Preshoot and TikTok Symphony, side by side

Updated 2026-08-15 · Risk-term list version 2026-08-15c

TikTok Symphony renders video. We do not. The platform’s own creative generation and campaign automation. Free to every TikTok advertiser worldwide since 2026-05.

We do the decision work that comes before the render: which angle to lead with, what the Chinese and English scripts each say, which phrasings are high risk in the US market, and how to brief a creator. The output is a document, not a clip.

They work together, and that is the normal workflow: take our script into TikTok Symphony. Below: the factual comparison and when you should pick them over us.

Using both

Symphony is free and getting better, and that is fine by us. Taking our script into Symphony is a normal workflow, not a betrayal. The real problem was never “no tool to make videos”; it is that the Symphony prompt, the creator brief and the Amazon script all start from the same one sentence. We work on what happens before that sentence.

When to pick them and not us

If you only run TikTok, only need creative for TikTok, and never send anything to a creator, Symphony is enough. It is free and it sits on the same data as your campaigns.

That section is sincere. We are not building the tool that does everything, and keeping the wrong user helps nobody.

High ticket, per-clip pricing, aimed at media buyers and agencies.

FAQ

Why do you not render video?

Two reasons. Legal: commercial terms from video vendors carry real obstacles — some pre-GA terms bar commercial use outright, some paid commercial licences force brand marks and keep a broad licence over your content. We are not touching that until it is verified. Strategic: the generation layer is being commoditised by aggregators; it is not a moat.

Are the price figures accurate?

To the provenance stated above: pricing-page figures are pricing-page figures, third-party consensus is marked with a ~. Compiled 2026-08-08. Pricing moves — check their site before you quote it.

Will you badmouth competitors?

No, and there is no need. Each of them is better than us at the part they do. There is exactly one difference worth stating: none of them does the decision work before the render.

Is paying for both a waste?

Depends what you are missing. If you already know what to shoot and what to say and only lack footage, use them directly. If every new SKU restarts the question of which angle to lead with and whether the English line is safe, what you save is not the subscription — it is a wasted round of shooting.
